Rice & Peas is a quarterly zine on Jamaican life and style, specifically focusing on music and art. The third Volume of Rice & Peas - The Dance Issue is packed full of dance related news. There are Q&A's with two inspirational ladies. First is dancehall choreographer/instructor Latonya Style who has choreographed and appeared in a crazy number of dancehall videos and has recently launched DanceJa Skool in Kingston, Ja. Next up is Tiffany Rhodes the lady behind ultra cool New York brand Butch Diva, worn by the likes of Patra, Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj to name a few. Also included is a brief history of old time Ja dace styles that have influence modern dance, a run down of dancehall fashion since the 80's, dancehall fact sheet focusing on the dancers and choreographers who define the genre, a little run down of Ja carnival (part 1, more to come in next issue) and the usual sections, Dance Style, Soundtrack and Read Watch Listen.
